Central to LandscapeDE’s design approach is a belief in the goal of connecting human environments to sustainability and environmental resiliency.  Through our designs, we seek ways to promote natural ecologies and support wildlife habitat for insects, birds, and mammals, while also serving the needs of people. 

In addition to our consciousness of sustainability and environmental resiliency, our approach to each project includes careful consideration of site conditions.  Our design process begins with inventory and analysis of the project site, which includes documentation of data gathered by direct observations and measurements on site.   LandscapeDE also looks beyond the boundaries of a given project site and considers larger urban and ecological patterns.  We believe a proper and well-considered landscape design must take into account the various elements affecting the project site and utilize them in a positive and connective manner.

Along with a careful consideration of the site, LandscapeDE also believes in strong communication and collaboration with our clients, consultants, and constructing contractors.  Before and during the design phase we often reach out to our collaborators to ensure that our designs bring together the relevant knowledge and capabilities of all stakeholders.  We also often consult with experts in pertinent fields to ensure that our designs will be constructed with the highest quality, will function properly, and will also be enduring.

Through consciousness of sustainability and environmental resiliency, careful consideration of site, and close collaboration with stakeholders, we produce better designs that meet the needs of our clients and promote healthy and beautiful environments.
